Appendix A:

I have designated the creation of Adam to year zero.
At the age of 130 Adam begat Seth. Adam died in year 930
Seth born in 130, in 235 he begat Enos. Seth died in 1042
Enos born in 235. In 325 he begat Cainan. Enos died in 1140
Cainan born in 325. In 395 he begat Mahalaleel. Cainan died in 1235
Mahalaleel born in 395. In 460 he begat Jared. Mahalaleel died in 1290
Jared born in 460. In 622 he begat Enoch. Jared died in 1422
Enoch born in 622. In 687 he begat Methuselah. Enoch translated in 987
Methuselah born in 687. In 874 he begat Lamech. Methuselah died in 1656
Lamech born in 874. In 1056 he begat Noah. Lamech died in 1651
Noah born in 1056. In 1558 he begat Shem, (Ham and Japheth). Noah died in 2006
(Genesis 5:32 was not as specific as to the exact year as Genesis 11:10, so we followed Genesis 11:10 to compute Arphaxad’s birth.)

The flood took place in the year 1656, right after the last Adamic patriarch, Methuselah died.

Shem born in 1558 and died in 2158
Arphaxad born in 1658 and died in 2096
Salah born in 1693 and died in 2126
Eber born in 1723 and died in 2187
Peleg born in 1757 and died in 1996
Rehu born in 1787 and died in 2026
Serug born in 1819 and died in 2049
Nahor born in 1849 and died in 1997
Terah born in 1878 and died in 2083
Abraham born in 1948 and died in 2123

Note: Noah was still alive when Abraham was born, and died when Abraham was 58 years old. Shem, the son of Noah died 35 years after Abraham died. The entire blood line of Shem was still alive, when Abraham was born.

Once we see this chart laid out, it should become very clear to the Christian that the Bible is very accurate. With Noah born only 126 years after the death of Adam, and was Seth alive until 14 years before the birth of Noah, we can see that the passing of information from one generation to the next had plenty of time, and that each generation had a full knowledge of God, that did not begin to deteriorate until the birth of Abraham. The Bible does tell us, that the household of Laban had images of house gods which Rachael brought with her when Jacob left the home of Laban.

(All the above computations were taken directly from Scripture)
