THE GOD OF THE OLD TESTAMENT
Part 2: The Purpose of Christ |
|
|
Jesus was incarnated 2,000 years ago, but His
existence preceded creation. It is therefore ignorant to say that He
has a birthday since the Son of God has no beginning – He has always
existed. The early church did not celebrate the birth of Jesus. The
concept of Christmas arose from pagan traditions that honored
Tammuz. The Son of God is the Creator and sustainer of the universe,
upholding everything by the word of His power. Meaning, every atom
is held together by His divinity. Jesus came to seek and save the
lost, reveal the heart of God the Father, fulfill the Mosaic law and
the prophets, destroy the works of the Devil, and offer abundant and
eternal life to all who believe. His death and resurrection bridged
the chasm between sinful humanity and a holy God. He established the
Kingdom of God within believers and promised a future reign on earth
during the millennial kingdom. |
