A STUDY ON THE HOLY SPIRIT
Part 11: The Gift of Prophecy |
|
|
Old Testament prophets warned Israel and foretold the
coming of the Messiah. After Pentecost, prophecy became vital for
the early church in terms of warning, guidance, and encouragement.
More than sixty years before a deadly persecution began, Christians
in Armenia were warned to flee at a specific time; those who heeded
the warning found safety, while those who disregarded it perished in
the genocide that followed. Pastor John shared two personal
prophecies that accurately describe his ministry challenges and
divine preservation, reinforcing the truth that God still speaks
through prophecy today. God is timeless and omniscient; prophecy
bridges His eternal knowledge with human limitation. It is an insult
to the Holy Spirit when Christians deny prophecy’s operation.
Operating in this gift is exciting because it means you are in God’s
will, signifying He has chosen to use you for a specific purpose. |
