THE STANDARD TEST OF TRUST

The first test was given to Adam and Eve, they failed! Genesis 2:15-17; 3:1-7

CAN WE TRUST OUR HEAVENLY FATHER?

In order to lay a solid foundation, let us do a study verse by verse in some chapters in the Letter to the Hebrews.

Hebrews chapter 4:

Verses 1-3: The rest that the apostle Paul is speaking about here is not a rest from any kind of activities, but a rest of working in the flesh!  From the very beginning, before God commenced the creation, it was designed to the smallest detail in His mind.

There are three kinds of powers:

1. The divine unlimited power of God, which only he can direct
2. The power assigned to Satan and his fallen angels
3. The power assigned from God to a human, is called “soul power.”

Every human being has its soul power enhanced, either from God or from the Devil.   Ephesians 2:1-10

Satan is constantly trying to convince the Christian to abandon his position of rest in God, loosing the power of God, and ending up in bondage to Satan. Galatians 2:16-21; 3:1-14

Verses 4-11: Enter into his rest

Verse 12: One form that the power of God has is found in his Word. Isaiah 55:8-11

Verse 13: Nothing is hidden from God. Psalms 139:1-12

Verses 14-16: Hold fast your profession of faith in Christ and come boldly to the throne of God.
