THE DEPARTURE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
PART THREE

Given to John S. Torell December 28, 2002 by the Holy Spirit

January 19,2003
The most frightening thought a human being can have, is the thought of being abandoned by God. God is truth, light, love, mercy, judgment and salvation from our sins, and only God can give man eternal life in heaven.  1 John 1:4-10; Revelation 20:10-15

NO HUMAN BEING CAN BE SAVED, UNLESS GOD DRAWS THEM!
In order to be saved, a person must be convicted of their sins and feel grief over them, and be willing to repent and change his/her life style. Without repentance there is no salvation! The conviction of sins is the work of the Holy Spirit, no man in himself has the capacity of understanding sin and grieving over it.
John 6:44; 65; 16:7-11; Romans 10:1-17

When we accept sin as something normal in our lives, we become carnal Christians.  Romans 8:1-8

This will lead to sickness, depression and a pre-mature death. That’s why it is so important that we understand we are not to grieve the Holy Spirit!  Ephesians 4:17-32; 5:1-21

Being able to WALK IN THE SPIRIT OF GOD IS A GIFT GIVEN BY GOD!

If we understand this, we will treasure and guard this wonderful gift, not being sloppy and careless. Rebellion and disobedience will cause God to remove this gift!

It happened to king Saul - 1 Samuel 15:10-31; 16:14-15

Saul knew that he was in trouble with God, but instead of repenting he tried to adjust his life to fit his sin level! He refused to repent and change. Verses 16-23

To lose the Holy Spirit is a judgment from God! Isaiah 6:1-13

When the Holy Spirit is withdrawing, the power of God is withdrawn in stages, as God is looking for the person to grieve over the loss and repent before it is too late.

First, Saul was stripped naked - 1 Samuel 19:8-24

Then he went deeper into sin - 1 Samuel 28:1-25

Sauls last day on earth - 1 Samuel 31:1-13

The prophet Jeremiah was told from the day he was called, that the people would not repent and because of this they were to perish in their sins - Jeremiah 1:1-19

Jesus strongly emphasized that the first gift of the Holy Spirit is the gift of repentance! Matthew 13:1-23

A normal healthy Christian will have a consuming desire to please God, and to further his kingdom on this earth - Matthew 19:16-30
