UNDERSTANDING THE KINGDOM OF GOD
PART FOUR - JOB - SECTION B

8 July 2001
Job was devastated, because he could not understand why his God, whom he loved so much and had served all his life, suddenly had turned on him and brought so much death and devastation. Job 6:1-4

The physical suffering of Job is beyond what we can understand today, as evidenced by his own description - Job 7:1-10

Not only was there a painful physical suffering, but the spiritual battle with the Devil himself, who is a master in mental torment - verses 11-16

There is no doubt in my mind that Satan and his demons hammered mentally at Job that this suffering and rejection came from God! verses 17-19

Job was pleading with God to forgive him for the sins he had committed, but there was no relief. verses 20-21

Bildad, was his friend, through whom the Devil spoke - Job 8:1-7

At this point Job believed that God had filled him with bitterness - Job 9:13-18

The mental anguish is now getting stronger - Job 10:1-14

The torment is now casting Job into confusion - verses 15-22

Now the Devil attacked Job in his knowledge of the Word of God, the very foundation of his faith - Job 11:1-4

Job was fighting back - Job 12:1-4; 13:1-13;

At this point Job took a stand, that shocked the Devil and must have brought a standing ovation in the court room of heaven - Job 13:14-28
Job 13:15 (Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him!!!)

The Devil continues to mock Job - Job 15:1-13

Job refuses to buckle under the pressure - Job 16:1-3

Job continues to plead for mercy from God - verses 11-22

At this time he is getting so worn out, that he is about to give up - Job 17:1-16

Satan is now going for the kill - Job 18:1-14

Job is now reeling and weak - Job 19:1-22

At this time the Holy Spirit is intervening and infusing faith into Job - v.23-27; (Matthew 16:13)

THIS STATEMENT BROKE THE ATTACK FROM THE DEVIL!

The power of the spoken word - Matthew 12:35-37

Job was quoting the Word of God, which had been written down by Enoch around 1000 years earlier: "There is a Redeemer, he is alive and he is coming some day for his own."

700 years before Christ, the prophet Isaiah cried out - Isaiah 9:1-7

The apostle Paul some 1900 years ago wrote this: Romans 10:5-17

This is spiritual warfare - 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

Do you have an ear with which to hear ?

                                                                        To be continued . . . . . .
