P.O.D. AND RASTAFARIANISM

Used with permission by Terry Watkins
www.av1611.org

Probably the most disturbing element of P.O.D. is the polluting of Christianity with Rastafarianism terms and values in their music.

Spin magazine writes of P.O.D.'s spiritual beliefs:

"Wuv and the band have structured their lives around a spiritual belief system that cross-fades Christianity, Rastarianism and Judaism."
(Joyful Noisemakers, Spin, October 2001, p. 88)

Spin magazine also writes that Sonny and Wuv were reared by their Rasta uncle.

Guitar World truthfully says of P.O.D’s Rasta-filled music:

"A lot of the spirituality you guys project seems more akin to Rasta than mainstream Christianity"
(Guitar World, Nov. 2001, p. 104)

What is rastafarianism?

Rastafarianism is a religion and way of life, that began in Jamaica in the 1930’s that blends components of Christianity, Hinduism, New Age, Mysticism, Racism and Voodoo. Followers of Rastafarianism are called Rastas, or Rastaman. In the 1930’s Rastaman, Leonard Howell provided Rastafarianism’s six foundational principles of Rastafarianism:

"(1) hatred for the White race;
(2) the complete superiority of the Black race;
(3) revenge on Whites for their wickedness;
(4) the negation, persecution, and humiliation of the government and legal bodies of Jamaica;
(5) preparation to go back to Africa; and
(6) acknowledging Emperor Haile Selassie as the Supreme Being and only ruler of Black people"
(Barret, Leonard E., The Rastafarians, p. 85)

According to Leonard Barrett, who is probably the greatest historical authority on Rastafarianism:

"This first glimpse [the above mentioned six principles] of the new doctrine that launched the Rastafarian movement has not changed significantly over the years."
(Barret, Leonard E., The Rastafarians, p. 85)

Some of the teachings of Rastafarianism:

  • Rastafarians believe that Haile Selassie, emperor of Ethiopia, (also named Ras Tafari), who died in 1975, was Almighty God in the flesh. Rastafarians worship Haile Selassie, or Ras Tafari, as God.

In an interview, Sonny of P.O.D. makes a reference to HR’s [HR is preacher/singer of Rastafarianism] turban looking like a royal headdress, like Rasta’s god, Haile Selassie!

GW: What was it like collaborating with HR on your song ‘Without Jah, Nothin’"?
TRAA: A pleasure man, man. He had a turban on.
SANDOVAL: A royal headdress, like Haile Selassie [the former Ethiopian emperor, reserved by Rastafafarians as an incarnation of God—GW Ed].
    (Guitar World, Nov. 2001, p. 52)

"All true Rastafarians believe that Haile Selassie, Emperor of Ethiopia, is the true and living god,"
    (Barret, Leonard E., The Rastafarians, p. 104)

"Jesus Christ was manifested in his second coming in the person of Jah Rastafari, Haile Sellassie I. Thus Jesus Christ and Haile Selassie are used interchangeably.
    (Barret, Leonard E., The Rastafarians, p. 229)

  • Rastafarians use the following Rastas terms:

JAH - The Rastafarian name for God.
BABYLON - Babylon is the Rastafarian term for the white political and church structure that has been holding the black race down for centuries.
I AND I – Rastafarian expression for oneness. `I and I' as being the oneness of two persons.
ZION – Ethiopia, Africa, the Rastafarian holy land.
TRIBAL – Rastafarians believe the black race is the reincarnation of the ancient tribes of Israel.

And as we’ll soon see, P.O.D. weaves the following terms, unique to Rastafarianism into their music.

  • Rastafarians consider Ethiopia heaven on earth. Rasta’s do not believe in an afterlife or hell, as Christianity believes.

Apparently, P.O.D. also does not believe in hell:

"It’s not you’re going to burn in hell. It’s love and respect."
    Marcos, P.O.D.
    (Guitar Legends, No. 37, p.28)

"We’re not passing out pamphlets that say ‘get your life straight or you’re gonna burn in hell.’ The Bible says it’s God love and kindness that leads people to repentance."
    Sonny, P.O.D.
    (Guitar World, Oct 2000, p. 78)

  • Rastafarians reject orthodox Christianity, and believe it is from the devil.

"The Rastafarians reject Christianity and firmly believe in Haile Selassie as the returned Messiah and Ethiopia as the promised land of all Black people."
(Barret, Leonard E., The Rastafarians, Preface, xi)

"The Whites’ god is actually the devil, the instigator of all evils that have come upon the world, the god of hate, blood, oppression, and war, the Black god is a god of ‘Peace and Love’."
(Barret, Leonard E., The Rastafarians, p.108)

"It follows that the Christian preachers of the White god, especially Black clergy, are the greatest deceivers…"
    (Barret, Leonard E., The Rastafarians, p. 108)

  • Rastafarians deny the salvation and deity of the Lord Jesus Christ.

"On the subject of reincarnation the Rastafarians have a unique teaching akin to Hinduism. They believe that God revealed himself many ages ago in various forms. To the Hebrews, God revealed himself in the person of Moses, who was the first avatar or savior . . .The second avatar was Elijah, . . . The third avatar was Jesus Christ,. . . Now the advent of Ras Tafari is the climax of God's revelation."
    (Barret, Leonard E., The Rastafarians, p. 112)

"The early Nyabinghi Rasta believed the Babylonian 'Jesus' to be a false god,, and Haile Selassie to represent the coming of the Messiah."
(Don Taylor, Marley and Me, p. 246)

  • Rastafarians believe that Jah will send the signal and help the blacks exodus back to the promise land, Ethiopia.

  • Rasta’s wear their hair in dreadlocks. As does Wuv and Traa of P.O.D.

  • Rastafarianism teaches the religious use of marijuana, also referred to as kaja, ganja, or the ‘holy herb’.

  • Reggae music is heavily influenced by Rastafarianism. Musician Bob Marley is a Rasta prophet and evangelist. Some Rasta’s believe Marley was the reincarnation of Jesus Christ. The word ‘reggae’ is Latin for "to the king".

In summary: Rastafarianism a Satanic, false religion that will condemn a person to a lake or fire.

    Rastafarianism is NOT Christian.

Rastafarianism CLEARLY "perverts the gospel of Christ" and is a CURSE – according to the word of God.

    Galatians 1:7-9
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

No Bible-Believing, Christian WILL tolerate, sympathize, nor ignore the CURSED teachings of Rastafarianism. They will expose it. They will condemn it. And they will warn people against it! Rastafarianism is a lie and a false hope and a perversion of the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ.

    The Bible is VERY clear:

There is ONE way and ONE way ONLY for salvation – and that is the shed blood of Jesus Christ at Calvary.

    THERE IS NO OTHER WAY!

    John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

    Acts 4:12
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

According to the Bible and the Lord Jesus Christ — ANY other way will send a person to hell. No matter what their intentions, no matter how "nice, peaceful, sincere, righteous, loving" they are – they are wrong. And they are preaching a false, damnable gospel.

    P.O.D. AND BOB MARLEY

Reggae musician Bob Marley has done, far more than any other person to evangelize Rastafarianism’s gospel of lies and damnation.

". . . he never changed from his trademark introduction of 'Hail Jah Rastafari!' which was an opening prayer to Jah, the Rasta name for God."
    Bob Marley, in concert
(Don Taylor, Marley and Me, p. 75)

"It’s difficult, of course, to properly understand Bob Marley’s music without considering Rastafari. His spiritual beliefs, by now, are too well known to necessitate further explanation. It must be stated, however, that Rastafari is at the very core of the Wailers’ music."
(CD liner, Legend, The best of Bob Marley and the Wailers)

"Indeed, Marley and his fellow musicians regard themselves as missionaries, dedicated to spreading the truth of Jah Rastafari. ‘It was a crusade, it was a mission.’ Remembers Judy Mowatt [one of Marley’s I-Threes backup singers]. ‘We were like sentinels, like lights. On tour the shows were like church; Bob delivering the sermon. . . ‘"
(Sean Dolan, Bob Marley, p. 95)

‘Well, me have a message and we wan’ fe get it across. . . My message across the world is Rastafari."
    Bob Marley
(Stephen Davis, Bob Marley, p. 157)

"The growth of the Rastafarian movement from the late 1970s to 1981 was largely due to the charismatic personality of Robert Nesta Marley [Bob Marley]. . . some have even called him the Charles Wesley of Rastafarianism ."
    (Barret, Leonard E., The Rastafarians, p. 213)

There’s no question P.O.D.’s music is very heavily influenced by Rastaman Bob Marley.

Notice: The picture with Sonny of P.O.D. wearing the Marley t-shirt on the right. It's worth noting, this particular shirt is also symbolic of Rastafarianism. The colors of Marley's face is green, gold and red, which are also colors very symbolic in Rastafarianism.

Revolver, Sept/Oct 2001 (has a picture of Marley on shirt)

"Rastafarians and reggae fans often wear red, green, and gold – the colors of the Ethiopian flag, which Marley used as a stage prop in his concerts."
(Larsons’ New Book of Cults, p. 345)

Sonny of P.O.D. makes an incredible statement, identifying P.O.D. and the Bible with false-prophet Bob Marley:

"If you listen to old school reggae music and Marley himself, 95 percent of his lyrics are scripture, straight from the bible, the word of God. I used to listen to reggae music and it made me a peaceful person. . . when I identified with a music, it was reggae music. We definitely respect that culture."
    Sonny Scandoval, POD singer
    https://www.antix.com/music/POD/POD.asp

"There are a lot of different types of music that we listen to.....I mean, there's a lot of Reggae music that I like. If you listen to a lot of Reggae music, 99% of it is scripture. If you listen to a lot of Bob Marley's music, most of it is scripture straight from the word."
    Sonny Scandoval, POD singer
    POD, Guitar Legends, No. 37

"Next they [POD] played an incredibly moving version of "Set Your Eyes to Zion" in the spirit of Bob Marley—Sonny actually sounded just like him when he held some of the higher notes."
    From Hard Rock Café (www.hardrock.com)

"’Set Your Eyes To Zion,’ the album's token roots number, is the worst offender, a High School bar band tribute to Bob Marley Lite, so intent on hitting the beat that it forgets that reggae needs soul as well."
Review of POD’s Fundamental Elements of Southtown
    Metal Edge Playback (www.mtledge.com)

What did Bob Marley actually believe?

Sonny of POD claims "95 percent of Bob Marley’s lyrics are scripture".

Let’s just see how scriptural Mr. Marley was. . .

Bob Marley was anti-Jesus and an antichrist. . .

"Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son."
    1 John 2:22

The following documented conversation took place between Marley and his mom, in which Marley ‘converted’ his mom, from Christianity to Rastafari:

"During this US tour [1975], Bob paid a visit to his mother in Delaware for a couple of days. This time Bob had clearly decided to instruct her fully in Rastafari.
'Bob tell me that His Majesty is the Almighty God - it not Jesus no more. . . .
Im said when we reason, ‘You know, momma, why is so hard for you to believe me when I say His Majesty is God? Because from the time you are a little girl growing up, you hear them talking about Jesus Christ; you go to church and you're into it.
‘But today 'im come in a new name: no Jesus Christ no more. . ."
(Adrian Boot and Chris Salewicz, Bob Marley: Songs of Freedom, pp. 143-144)

    ". . . no Jesus Christ no more. . ."

Marley’s song "Get Up, Stand Up", which is a rallying cry for Rastafarianism, takes a vicious swipe at the Lord Jesus Christ:

We sick an' tired of your bulls--- game,
Die and go to heaven in Jesus name
    .
    We know when we understand:
Almighty God is a living man.
You can fool some people sometimes,
But you can't fool all the people all the time.
And now we’ve seen the light (What you gonna do?),
We gonna stand up for our rights! (Yeah, yeah, yeah!)

Now, where is that in scripture? Chapter and Verse. . .?

It's incredible, P.O.D. plays Marley's song "Get Up, Stand Up" in their Satellite concert tour! (Rolling Stone, Nov. 22, 2001, p. 35)

Of all the songs of Marley's, "Get Up, Stand Up" is probably the most blatant, anti-Christian, song Marley has!

Why such a blatant, anti-Christian song? One review of Marley's "Get Up, Stand Up" says:

"This is the cutting call-to-arms that kicked off the Burnin' album. Seldom has the Rasta ethos been spelled out with greater sagacity, . . ."

It's interesting the ultra-left-wing, Amnesty International has adopted Marley's, "Get Up, Stand Up" as their anthem.

Here's some more of the lyrics to "Get Up, Stand Up":

    Preacherman, don't tell me,
    Heaven is under the earth.
    I know you don't know
    What life is really worth.
    It's not all that glitters is gold;
'Alf the story has never been told. . .

Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up: don't give up the fight!

    Most people think,
Great God will come from the skies,
    Take away everything
    And make everybody feel high.
But if you know what life is worth,
You will look for yours on earth:

So now we see the light (What you gonna do?), We gonna stand up for our rights! (Yeah, yeah, yeah!)

We sick an' tired of-a your ism-skism game -
Dyin' 'n' goin' to heaven in-a Jesus' name, Lord.
    We know when we understand:
Almighty God is a living man. [reference to Haile Sellasie - Rastafari - Jah - God]

You can fool some people sometimes,
But you can't fool all the people all the time.
So now we see the light (What you gonna do?),
We gonna stand up for our rights! (Yeah, yeah, yeah!)

Do you believe Marley's song "Get Up, Stand Up", mocking the Lord Jesus Christ and Christianity, pleases the Lord Jesus Christ?

And Sonny says in Guitar World, that rastas "believe in Jesus Christ just like we do. .

"And they [Rastas] believe in Jesus Christ just like we do. . . .
    Sonny, P.O.D.
    (Guitar World, Nov. 2001, p. 57)

Rastafarianism does NOT teach that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Jesus (John 14:6)

Sonny says Rastas believe in Jesus Christ — JUST LIKE P.O.D.!

What does P.O.D. REALLY believe about Jesus Christ?

    Bob Marley was anti-Christianity. . .

". . . I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."
    Jesus Christ
    Matthew 16:18

"Many reporters asked Bob about the line, ‘I feel like a bombing a church’ from ‘Talkin’ Blues’; . . .‘Politics and church are the same thing. Dem keep the people in ignorance, and Jah nuh gwaan come and seh, ‘I am God and you should praise me.’ These guys who preach are false. . .’"
(Stephen Davis, Bob Marley, p. 146)

'Cause I feel like bombin' a church
Now - now that you know that the preacher is lyin'.
So who's gonna stay at home
When - when the freedom fighters are fighting?
    "Talkin’ Blues"
    Bob Marley

Hum… Sonny, somehow, I missed the "bombing of churches" in the scriptures?

What does the "fell like bombin' a church" do to the silly-line about Reggae and Rastafari being about peace, love, good will, blah. . . blah. . . And there's much more violence in Marley and Rastafarianiam.

Bob Marley was an admitted adulterer. . .

"Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:"
    2 Peter 2:14

"In an interview given in 1975, he declared his opinion on marriage plainly, 'Me never believe in marriage that much. Marriage is a trap to control me;. . ."
(Don Taylor, Marley and Me, p. 123)

Now, where is "marriage is a trap" found in the scriptures?

I wonder what kind of Bible Sonny of P.O.D. is reading?

My Bible says "marriage is honourable"

"Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers [Bob Marley] God will judge.
    Hebrews 13:4

"That Bob was not a one-woman man was common knowledge. He had converted many highly educated 'uptown' women to the ghetto lifestyle, making them his maids-in-waiting. . . Heading the list was the former Miss World, Cindy Breakspeare."
(Don Taylor, Marley and Me, p. 125)

Marley fathered at least eleven children by seven different women.

Bob Marley’s songs were filled with sex and lust. . .

"Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart."
    2 Timothy 2:22

"‘Mellow Mood’ was a scorching Bob Marley seduction song, - Gonna play your favorite song / darlin’/gonna rock you all night long’"
(Stephen Davis, Bob Marley, p. 76)

"The Kong sessions were rounded off by a pair of classic Wailers sex chants. ‘Back Out’ was one of the first Wailers songs to feature Bob singing in a style that ached with desire, that communicated a palpable lust, sparked by perfectly timed James Brown grunts’’ ‘Back out, unh, and shut your mouth’ . . . Equally seducing was another Marley love song, ‘Do It Twice’."
(Stephen Davis, Bob Marley, p. 79)

"Is This Love" was a touching declaration inspired by Bob’s ongoing romance with Cindy Breakspeare, as was "Satisfy My Soul" a highly charged song of passion and sex . . .
(Stephen Davis, Bob Marley, p. 196)

Bob Marley was involved in the occult and possessed by demon spirits. . .

As a young child Marley possessed the satanic ‘spirit’ of divination or palmistry:

"Before he had been taken to Kingston, he used to read palms at his mother’s shop. Cedella remembers that ‘the district constable came to the shop one day and said, ‘Auntie Ciddy, your little boy here read my hand. Listen to me. I don’t know if the child realize what he was saying, but everything he told me has happened.’

‘The following day, a lady called Aunt Zen came and told me, ‘Did you know that your son can read hands?’

‘I said, ‘Read what kind of hand? A man the other day told me the same thing.’

She said, ‘No, Auntie Ciddy, it’s true. Nesta read my hand and everything ho told me is the same thing what happen.’

‘So I said to him, ‘Nes’, you reading hand?’ And he just smile.’"
(Stephen Davis, Bob Marley, p. 18)

There shall not be found among you . . . that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD:. . ."
    Deuteronomy 18:10-12

And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:
    Acts 16:16

Bob Marley was possessed by spirits. . .

"He was ‘dancing in the spirit’ now, said the I-Threes, who had long been convinced that when Marley was onstage he became entranced, virtually possessed."
(Sean Dolan, Bob Marley, p. 101)

"He gets involved spiritually. He gets in spirit. The I-Threes saw spiritual things happen to Bob onstage that no one else was conscious of."
    Rita Marley
(Stephen Davis, Bob Marley, p. 203)

Bob Marley was an admitted friend of the Devil!

‘The Devil come and me shake hands with the Devil! Devil have his part to play. Devil’s a good friend too…"
    Bob Marley
(Stephen Davis, Bob Marley, p. 148)

Bob Marley's, mother describes his appearance in concerts, as a different person:

"When I sit and view him onstage, it's as though I'm looking at a different person. It's not Bob I'm seeing now, I'm seeing somebody else. . . the personality is a different one, because he was under such a glorious sensation of the spirit that you could see it just flowing. . ."
(Adrian Boot and Chris Salewicz, Bob Marley: Songs of Freedom, p. 174)

Marley’s music is a vehicle for ‘demonic possession’. . .

"Bob was in such control now as a singer that he could produce instant biochemical reactions in attentive dancers, rocking the groove of a song with scat phrases and repetitive soul slang. This kind of singing, coupled with the appalling chop of hard reggae rhythm guitar, was nothing less than a setup for secular Jamaican spirit possession, trance music of the highest order."
(Stephen Davis, Bob Marley, p. 79)

Bob Marley was a false Christ. . .

"Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets,. . . "
    Jesus Christ
    Matthew 24:23-25

    [Bob’s Mother]

‘He looked like a different person up there. You could see God Himself in Bob that night."
(Stephen Davis, Bob Marley, p. 165)

"Bob Marley is seen as the redeemer figure returning to lead this planet out of confusion. Some will come out and say directly that Bob Marley is the reincarnation of Jesus Christ long awaited by much of the world. . ."
(Adrian Boot and Chris Salewicz, Bob Marley: Songs of Freedom, p. 12)

"After his death, many of Bob’s friends began to think of him as a Christ figure.
Tyrone Downie: ‘Bob was a little like Christ for me. . . when he was alive I wasn’t sure. Since he died, my perspective is that he is really the prophet.
Diane Johnson: Bob must be seen as a Christ figure, and his songs as a new book of psalms.
Danny Sims: I think Bob was a very mythical character. He was like Jesus Christ."
(Stephen Davis, Bob Marley, p. 255)

"Bob shall come again. Like Christ he shall come in a new name."
    Rita Marley
(Adrian Boot and Chris Salewicz, Bob Marley: Songs of Freedom, p. 280)

Yes. Sonny, probably 95% of Marley’s music is scripture – but it’s scriptures that are AGAINST THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!

    P.O.D. AND DREADLOCKS

One of the distinctive characteristics of Rastas is their "dreadlock" hairstyle.

"Another reason contributing to the negative image of the Rastafarians is their strange hairstyle known as ‘dreadlocks’, which some feel is wild and unattractive. The dreadlock appearance is the distinguishing mark of the movement."
(Barret, Leonard E., The Rastafarians, Preface, ix)

One of the chief marks of a true Rastafarian is the way he wears his hair."
(Barret, Leonard E., The Rastafarians, p.137)

"A physical feature that sets the Rastafarians apart from all other groups is the wearing of their hair in dreadlocks."
    (Magical Blend, June/July 1994, p. 76)

"Rastas adopted the visible characteristic of 'Dreadlocks' . . . This religious vow [dreadlocks] became the trademark of Rastas. . ."
(Don Taylor, Marley and Me, p. 246, 147)

"Their [Rastas] dreadlocks are the ‘lamb’s wool’ or spiritual symbol of devotion to their creator, Jah."
    (Larson’s New Book of Cults, p. 344)

It's no coincident, Sonny and Traa wear the "rasta" dreadlocks.

Their "dreadlock" hair is to symbolize rebellion.

"The dreadlocks on a Rastas head also contains symbolism. This symbolizes the Rastas roots, contrasting the straight, blond look of the white man and establishment. . . This has also come to symbolize rebellion of the system"

"'Dread' means rebellion of a certain behavior pattern of society."
    (Barret, Leonard E., The Rastafarians, p. 138)

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, . . ."
    1 Samuel 15:23

One of the most blatantly blasphemous and perverted images of the Lord Jesus Christ ever displayed, POD proudly parades during their concerts —- the Lord Jesus Christ with dreadlocks!

Let’s get something straight – the Lord Jesus Christ was NOT A RASTAFARIAN!

A concert review of P.O.D. at Ozzfest, notices the clear message of the "Rastafarian Jesus" — notice the Rastafarian connections to the smoking of marijuana (which is used in Rastafarianism):

"A few seconds later, the overpowering smell of reefer filled the daytime sky. Well, P.O.D. did have a Rastafarian Jesus hanging behind the stage."

Guitar World, also, writes of P.O.D.’s rasta "Jesus":

"Even before P.O.D. ruffled feathers by joining Ozzfest, the group caught flax from the Christian community for its controversial stage backdrop, which featured a Rasta-like image of Jesus."
    (Guitar World, Oct 2000, p. 100)

Anybody who would display the lovely Lord Jesus Christ as a Rastaman is clearly, spiritually "not playing with a full deck"!

Any Christian who would tolerate and advocate someone who perverts the Lord Jesus Christ into a Rastaman – is spiritually SICKO!

One of the most sickening things in my research of P.O.D. was the cover stories on P.O.D. carried by Christian music magazines, CCM and HM. CCM Magazine carried a cover story on P.O.D. titled "You've Got Questions, They've Got Answers" (CCM January 2001) — and not one single question about the Rastafarian theology being taught (Col. 3:16) in their music!

And HM (formerly Heaven's Metal, now Hard Music) Magazine did a cover story of P.O.D. titled "The Most Important Rock Band Today" (HM Sep/Oct 2001). And both CCM and HM displayed pictures of the Rasta "Jesus", P.O.D. displays in concert and not one question, not one concern, not one warning, of the perverted portrayal of the Lord Jesus Christ! There was nothing but praise for P.O.D. in both articles!

Why would a Christian tolerate such a wicked, perversion of the Lord Jesus?

    Simple. . .

They LOVE rock music more than they LOVE the Lord Jesus!

Their attitude is – "I don’t care if these CCM rock stars PERVERT and LIE about the Lord Jesus – but don’t you dare say nothing negative about my rock stars, like P.O.D.!"

That’s the doctrine of the average CCM rocker.

    We’ve documented it. . . We’ve proved it . . . MANY, MANY TIMES. . .

Sonny, of P.O.D., in Shoutweb, also perverts the Lord Jesus Christ by claiming Jesus was the "first punk rocker"!

"We believe that Jesus was the first rebel. He was the first punk rocker going against all the rest of it"
    Sonny, P.O.D.

Let’s get something straight! – MR. SONNY – the Lord Jesus Christ was NOT A REBEL!

The Lord Jesus Christ was OBEDIENT unto death – even the death of the cross!

    Phil. 2:8
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Christian, doesn’t that make you mad – to hear someone call Jesus Christ a REBEL – the first punk rocker! If it doesn’t make you mad – you need to check up on your salvation!

The Bible says "rebellion" is as the sin of "witchcraft"!

    1 Samuel 15:23
"For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king."

It would be funny. . . if so many young people weren’t falling for this spiritual sickness.

    P.O.D. AND JAH

One of the most important and widespread words used in Rastafarianism is JAH. JAH is the Rastafari name for God.

"The other name reverenced in the movement is ‘Jah’."
    (Barret, Leonard E., The Rastafarians, p. 83)

Rastaman Bob Marley’s concerts and songs were Rastafari praises to Jah:

"With raised hands, in true Rastafarian style, he [Bob Marley] psyched the audiences with his familiar yell, 'Jah!' The audience responded ,'Jah!'
    (Barret, Leonard E., The Rastafarians, p. 195)

". . . he never changed from his trademark introduction of 'Hail Jah Rastafari!' which was an opening prayer to Jah, the Rasta name for God."
    Bob Marley, in concert
(Don Taylor, Marley and Me, p. 75)

"On different occasions and in different interviews, Bob often said, 'If Jah hadn't given me a song to sing, I wouldn't have a song to sing. The song comes from Jah, all the time."
(Don Taylor, Marley and Me, p. 156)

The word 'jah' is found one time in the King James Bible in Psalm 68:4

"Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him."
    Psalm 68:4

The word 'jah' found in Psalm 68:4 is actually a 'transliteration' of the Hebrew word 'yahh'. Note: transliteration means the word was not actually translated, but the letters are 'converted' into the letters of the translated language. The Hebrew word 'yahh' occurs 52 times in the Old Testament and is normally translated 'LORD'.

It's interesting to also note, the "foundational" verse for Rastafarianism is also in Psalms 68, which Rastas claims is the 'proof' Haile Selassie - NOT Jesus Christ, emperor of Ethiopia is God Almighty.

"Princes shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God."
    Psalms 68:31

I will challenge ANYONE to document ANY Christian today or in Church History that continually refers to God as Jah.

The ONLY ONES who continually refer to God as Jah are Rastafarians!

    There are NO EXCEPTIONS!

The name a Christian uses is JESUS.

For instance the name "Jesus" shows up 983 times — and that's JUST the New Testament!

If the Word of God calls His name Jesus - 983 times in the New Testament.

And has one reference to a transliterated Hebrew word in the Old Testament.

What do you think God wants you to call His Name?

    Matthew 1:21
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

    Matthew 1:25
And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

    John 20:31
31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

    Acts 4:10-12
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

    Phillipians 2:9-11
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
    10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Oh, Christian, don't you love that name of JESUS?

There have been names that I have loved to hear,
But never has there been a name so dear
To this heart of mine, as the Name divine,
The precious, precious Name of Jesus.

Jesus is the sweetest name I know,
And He’s just the same as His lovely Name,
    And that’s the reason why I love Him so;
Oh, Jesus is the sweetest name I know.

There is no name in earth or heav’n above,
That we should give such honor and such love
As the blessèd Name, let us all acclaim,
That wondrous, glorious Name of Jesus.

    Jesus, Jesus, Jesus;
There's just something about that name!
    Master, Savior, Jesus,
    Like the fragrance after the rain;
    Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
    Let all heaven and earth proclaim;
Kings and kingdoms will all pass away,
But there's something about that name!

May we NEVER, EVER be guilty of being ashamed of the wonderful, matchless, beautiful name of JESUS!

Is it possible. . . Is it possible. . . for a Christian, who REALLY believes that the Lord Jesus Christ loved them so much He died on a rugged, old cross to not want to proclaim His name to the whole wide world?

Rastaman Bob Marley’s lyrics or ‘sermons’, are filled with praises and references to Jah. Here’s just a sampling of many of Marley’s praises to JAH.

    "Positive Vibration" - Bob Marley

    Rastaman vibration yeah. . .
JAH love, JAH love protect us

    "Confrontation" - Bob Marley

Glory to Jah the prophet has come
    Give thanks and praises

"Trench Town Rock" - Bob Marley

Trenchtown rock, and only Jah, Jah know

    "Screw Face" - Bob Marley

Remember Jah - Jah children deh!

    "Jammin’" - Bob Marley

    Zion! Ho-o-o-o-oly Mount Zion
    Jah-Jah sitteth in Mount Zion!

"Mix Up, Mix Up" - Bob Marley

Someone wanna take Jah - Jah - Jah children for a ride!
Shut up! Open the gate, and let the saints through

    "Jah Live" - Bob Marley

    Jah live, children, ye-ah!
Jah - Jah live, children, yeah!
    Jah live, children, ye-ah!
Jah - Jah live, children, yeah!

These are just a few of Bob Marley’s many, many songs of praise to the Rastafarian god — Jah.

Not only is Rastaman Bob Marley’s songs filled with RSE ses to Jah – so is ‘supposedly’ Christians P.O.D. songs!

P.O.D. in the song "Set You Eyes to Zion", they sing:

Take me to the promised land. Where I and I is free,
Jah set my mind my mind at ease
    . . .
    Set your eyes to Zion
    Jah Jah people ride on

Notice in the above song "Set Your Eyes to Zion" the distinct phrase "jah jah people" – now where did that "phrase" come from? From Rastaman Marley, of course. . .

The phrase "jah jah people" , ‘Jah jah children’ is used many times in Marley’s and P.O.D.’s music!

Have you ever heard Billy Graham, or any Christian call God – JAH JAH?

"Jah Jah" is STRICTLY a Rastafarian term – IT IS NOWHERE FOUND IN THE BIBLE!

IT IS NOWHERE FOUND IN CHURCH HISTORY!

IT IS NOWHERE FOUND IN CHRISTIANITY!

And if you don’t think Christian young people are getting indoctrinated with these Rastafarian terms! Just check out the conversations on P.O.D.’s "warrior forum" at https://bbs.payableondeath.com/cgi-shell/ultimatebb.cgi

Some other P.O.D. songs with praise to Rastafari "JAH":

    Lie Down by P.O.D.

Hold down the strong with the power Jah has given

    Tribal by P.O.D.

    I and I a Jah Jah warrior. . .
    Jah make straight my steps

    Follow Me by P.O.D.

Before they see Jah creation come with his power.

P.O.D.’s album "The Fundamental Elements of Southtown" does not contain the wonder name of Jesus Christ – ZERO! ZIPPO. . . The name of Jesus Christ does NOT occur even ONE time in Fundamental Elements.

But the Rasta god JAH – now that’s a different story – JAH occurs 10 times!

    BUT NO JESUS. . .

Remember the conversation, we saw previously, where Bob Marley converted his mom from Christianity to Rastafari:

'Bob tell me that His Majesty is the Almighty God - it not Jesus no more. . . .
‘But today 'im come in a new name: no Jesus Christ no more. . ."
(Adrian Boot and Chris Salewicz, Bob Marley: Songs of Freedom, pp. 143-144)

Yes, Bob, "no Jesus Christ no more" in P.O.D.s Fundamental Elements of Southtown!

Marcos of P.O.D. unashamedly, tells CCM magazine:

"Every song might not say Jesus in it, It might not have a spiritual overtone, but the passion and emotion behind it, the chords – I’m playing that to the higher power above, which is God, dude."
    (CCM, January 2001, p. 28)

You’re right-on, Marcos. "Every song might not say Jesus in it" – In fact, the glorious name of Jesus is NEVER mentioned in Fundamental. . .

But the Rasta name for god - JAH - that's coming through LOUD AND PROUD!

Not only that Marcos but — "that higher power above" you’re playing to, dude – JUST might be the "prince of the power of the air" (Ephesians 2:2) a.k.a. "the god of this world" (2 Cor. 4:4) – SATAN!

    P.O.D. AND BABYLON

Another ‘term’ used throughout Rastafarianism is ‘Babylon’. Babylon is the Rastafarian term for the established political and church structure, which the Rastas attribute to Satan.

"The period between the Pinnacle and 1959 was one of regrouping. It was a time of intense hatred for the establishment and especially for the police. The name Babylon was now given to the establishment, and Rastafarians with their dreadlocks roamed the street like madmen calling down fire and brimstone on Babylon, using the most profane language to shock the conservative establishment."
(Barret, Leonard E., The Rastafarians, p.89)

"Despite the obvious progress, the movement still holds to its millenarian psychology by defining non-Rastafarians as 'Babylon'".
(Barret, Leonard E., The Rastafarians, p.243)

Rasta prophet Bob Marley’s songs are packed with references to Babylon. Here’s a few of Marley’s Rasta Babylon:

Babylon System (notice the reference to the "church deceiving the people continually") – Bob Marley

Babylon system is the vampire, yea!. . .
Building church and university, wo-o-ooh, yeah!
    Deceiving the people continually, yea-ea!
Me say them graduatin' thieves and murderers;. . .

Chant Down Babylon (notice the reference to hate and violence – ‘burn down Babylon’)

Come we go burn down Babylon one more time
    (Come we go burn down Babylon one more time);
Come we go chant down Babylon one more time

    Rastaman Chant – Bob Marley

Hear the words of the Rastaman say:
    "Babylon, you throne gone down, gone down;

    Exodus – Bob Marley

Exodus: Movement of Jah people!. . .
    We're leaving Babylon, y'all!

And does Christians P.O.D. sing of ‘Babylon’?‘

Of course, they do. So sings Rastaman Bob Marley. . . so sings P.O.D.. . .

In fact, one of P.O.D.’s songs is titled "Breathe Babylon":

    Breathe Babylon – P.O.D.

. . .So with brotha's that snuff punks
I set up time bombs to destroy the strongholds of Babylon.
    Babylon, breath Babylon . . .

Other P.O.D. songs referring to ‘Babylon’:

    Lie Down – P.O.D.

    Oh babylon the great.
    Evil virus, be like Cyrus,
    trample down your gates.
We're the ones, the chosen sons.

In "Set It Off", P.O.D. sings the Marley "rasta-chant" – "Chant down dem Babylon"

    "Set It Off" by P.O.D.

    Chant down dem Babylon
The wicked man when he sees me I go run

Where in the Bible have you ever read of any such nonsense as "Chant down dem Babylon"?

Of course, you haven’t – it’s NOT IN THE BIBLE!

But Rasta "preacher" Bob Marley’s has a song titled "Chant Down Babylon", in which Marley advocates "burning down" Babylon.

Come we go burn down Babylon one more time
    (Come we go burn down Babylon one more time);
Come we go chant down Babylon one more time

P.O.D.’s not ashamed to sing the ‘name of Babylon’ – but nowhere is the ‘name of Jesus’ in Fundamental Elements of Southtown or Satellite?

    P.O.D. AND "I AND I"

Another phrase that is exclusive to Rastafarianism is "I and I". The expression "I and I" is frequently heard among Rasta talk. . . . many times Rastas will opt to use "I and I" instead of "you and I" because they believe that all people are bound together by the one god, Jah.

"One of the phrases unique to the Rastafarians is ‘I and I’."
    (Barret, Leonard E., The Rastafarians, p. 144)

"The second concept is that of I and I which has "become arguably the most important theoretical tool apart from the Babylonian conspiracy in the Rastafarian repertoire. I and I is an expression to totalize the concept of oneness. `I and I' as being the oneness of two persons. So God is within all of us [New Age teaching – Pantheism] . . ."
    (Ernest Cashmore, Rastaman, p. 66)

Rastaman Bob Marley songs include the Rasta phrase "I and I":

"Give Thanks and Praises to the Most High" – Bob Marley

Guide and protect I and I Oh JAH, JAH
Through aln’ Bese stages Rastafari is His Name, JAH Rastafari is His Name, JAH

    Positive Vibration – Bob Marley

    Rastaman vibration yeah! Positive
I and I vibration yeah! Positive
JAH love, JAH love protect us

    Crazy Baldheads – Bob Marley

    I and I build a cabin
I and I plant the corn

Does P.O.D. also include the exclusive Rasta phrase, "I and I", in their songs?

Do you even have to ask. . .?

Set Your Eyes To Zion – P.O.D.

Take me to the promised land.
Where I and I is free,
Jah set my mind my mind at ease. . .
Stick to the track and don't be trapped by Babylon.. . .
    Set your eyes to Zion
    Jah Jah people ride on

    Tribal – P.O.D.

    Tribal Soldier?
    Represent!
    I and I a Jah Jah warrior

Now, when have you ever heard ANYONE use the phrase "I and I", besides a Rastaman?

    Oh. I forgot. ‘Those’ Christians P.O.D. . .

    P.O.D. AND ZION

Another phrase "near and dear" to the Rastaman’s heart is ‘Zion’.

Rastafarianism does not teach an afterlife such as heaven or hell, but their heaven is Zion, which to the Rasta is Ethiopia, the promise land.

Rastaman Bob Marley’s songs are filled with references to Zion. Here’s a few examples:

Iron Lion Zion – Bob Marley

    I'm gonna be iron like a lion in Zion;
I'm gonna be iron like a lion in Zion.
Oh, yeah! Iron, lion, Zion - lion, Zion!

    Rastaman Chant – Bob Marley

Hear the words of the Rastaman say. . . .
    I say fly away home to Zion (fly away home);
I say fly away home to Zion (fly away home).

    Jammin’ – Bob Marley

    Zion! Holy Mount Zion
    Jah-Jah sitteth in Mount Zion!

Don’t even ask, you know if it’s in Rastaman Marley’s songs, it’s in Rastas, uh…I mean Christians P.O.D.’s songs.

One of POD’s songs is titled "Set Your Eyes to Zion". God says in Hebrews 12:2, "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. . .". But POD sings the "Rastaman Chant" – "Set Your Eyes to Zion"!

Who do you think is correct? P.O.D. or God?

Notice all the Rastatari terms in "Set Your Eyes to Zion" – "Zion", "I and I", "Jah, Jah people", "Babylon".

Set Your Eyes To Zion – P.O.D.

Take me to the promised land.
Where I and I is free,
Jah set my mind my mind at ease. . .
Stick to the track and don't be trapped by Babylon. . . .
    Set your eyes to Zion
    Jah Jah
    people ride on

No wonder, in a review of a P.O.D. concert, Hard Rock Cafe, described "Set Your Eyes to Zion" as ". . .in the spirit of Bob Marley. . ."

"Next they [POD] played an incredibly moving version of "Set Your Eyes to Zion" in the spirit of Bob Marley—Sonny actually sounded just like him when he held some of the higher notes."
    From Hard Rock Café (www.hardrock.com)

In P.O.D.’s song "Breathe Babylon" they sing ". . .waiting for the train to Zion".

Now where in the Bible have you every heard of a "train to Zion"?

When have you ever heard a Christian refer to a "train to Zion"?

What in the world is this so-called "train to Zion"?

    Rastafari doctrine, what else?

Rasta evangelist Bob Marley even has a song title "Zion Train", including the line "praise Fari" (for Rastafari).

    "Zion Train" – Bob Marley

Zion train is coming our way;. . .
    Oh, people, get on board!
    Thank the Lord, praise Fari

In P.O.D.’s song "Satellite", they sing "follow the Son and ride on to Zion"

    "Satellite" by P.O.D.

So now can I run? I follow the Son and ride on to Zion
And dance this last song of freedom

P.O.D.’ certainly doesn’t follow the Son – the Lord Jesus Christ. He wasn’t a Rastaman, and He did NOT "ride on to Zion".

Also, notice the line with the reference "song of freedom".

Song of Freedom is another Bob Marley phrase (are you surprised?). Marley’s 4-CD song compilation is titled "Songs of Freedom". And authors Adrian Boot and Chris Salewicz titled their book on Bob Marley: "Songs of Freedom".

    P.O.D. AND TRIBAL

Another "code-word" used in Rastafarianism is "tribal". Rastas believe they are the reincarnation of the twelve tribes of Israel.

"The Rastafarians also believe that they "were the reincarnations of the ancient tribes of Israel who had been enslaved and kept in exile by their white oppressors, the agents of Babylon"
    (Ernest Cashmore Rastaman, p. 129)

Some of Rastaman Bob Marley’s songs with "tribal".

"Iron Lion Zion" – by Bob Marley

    So they fightin' tribal war,
And they saying, "Iron like a lion in Zion"

"I Know" – by Bob Marley

Tribe goes up, all the tribe goes down:
Bring my children from the end of d'earth

And of course, P.O.D. sings the Rastafari "tribal" chant. In fact, one of their songs is titled, what else, "Tribal".

    "Tribal" – by P.O.D.

Where do you stand in this Battle Cry?
    Tribal Soldier
    Represent!
    I and I a Jah Jah warrior

Notice, POD has the same reference context as Marley, "tribal", "soldiers’, "battle", "fight", "warrior", "jah, jah".

P.O.D.s song "Babylon Breathe" they sing the line: "We be tribes under grace,. . ."

What are they talking about – "We be tribes under grace"?

P.O.D.’s not Jewish. They’re not in the Biblical definition of a "tribe". Now, I wonder where did they get that teaching from?

    I think you know where. . .

In "Lie Down", P.O.D. sings again of a "tribal" connection:

    Lie Down – by P.O.D.

We tribal, sing with the Saints, let our spirits fly.
Hold down the strong with the power Jah has given I

    P.O.D. AND WARRIORS

Rastas refer to themselves as "warriors".

"In this second phase of Pinnacle [1953], the male members began to grow their hair in locks—a custom that distinguishes the Rastaman to the present. They were called ‘locksmen’, now know as ‘dreadlocks’ or ‘natty-dread’, but in their early period they were called Ethiopian warriors".
    (Barret, Leonard E., The Rastafarians, p. 87)

"In Paris, the Wailers again played to adoring capacity crowds, French kids and West Africans drunk on reggae music and the wiry little sorcerer who windmilled his dreadlocks and seemed to command his own shining cult of swaying priestesses and hard reggae warriors."
(Stephen Davis, Bob Marley, p. 168)

One of P.O.D. albums is appropriately titled "Warriors".

P.O.D.’s song "Tribal" they sing of a "Jah Jah warrior" and "tribal warriors".

    Tribal – by P.O.D.

Where do you stand in this Battle Cry?
    Tribal Soldier?
    Represent!
    I and I a Jah Jah warrior
    Here in this Battle
    Cry, we will never die.
We will never die Tribal Warriors

POD and "THE MESSENJAH". . .

By far, the most disturbing P.O.D. song with Rastafarian teachings is "Messenjah" from the Satellite album.

    "The Messenjah" – by P.O.D.

I message, written in rhyme, prophetic
Teachers amongst the skeptics and guiding the misdirected
    Infected with their lies
    and their alibis
With their third eye blind, out of line, they try to prophesy
    I and I
unfold the mysteries told. . .
    I am the Messenjah
    . . .
I and I, I’m not ashamed of the Most High
    . . .
True king descendant, master to the apprentice
    . . .
All hail, we prevail, the Tribes of Israel, flow through ya
We pursue the conquering lion of the Tribe of Judah
    Don’t let ‘em fool ya,
before this, the foolish get rushed
So don’t slop, you never knew us

There is some VERY strong and frightening EXPLICIT Rastafarian doctrine and teaching in "Messenjah".

    1. The name MessenJAH – the Rasta take-off of Messenger.

    2. Notice the Rasta phrase "I and I".

    3. The phrase "The Most High" is also a popular Rasta title that is given to Haile Selassie.

    4. "True King descendant" is a very Rasta. The foundational belief for Rastafarianism is that Haile Selassie, emporer of Ethiopia, is the "True King Descendant" of King Solomon!

    5. The phrase "All hail, we prevail, the Tribes of Israel, flow through ya". The Rastas believe they are the true "Tribes of Israel". Notice the "flow through ya".

    6. The phrase "the conquering lion of the Tribe of Judah" is also highly esteemed in Rastafarianism. The "Lion of the Tribe of Judah" is a titled given to Haile Sallessie:

"He [Ras Tafri] took the name Haile Selassie (Might of the Trinity], to which was added "King of Kings" and the "Lion of the Tribe of Judah," placing him in the legendary line of King Solomon."
    (Barret, Leonard E., The Rastafarians, p. 81)

"One of the most prominent symbols among the Rastafarians is the lion which represents Haile Selassie, the Conquering Lion of Judah. It is seen on the houses of the brethren, on their flags, in their tabernacles, in their homes, and just about any place Rastafarians have any connections."
    (Barret, Leonard E., The Rastafarians, p. 142)

Most of Bob Marley’s record covers/liners have a Rasta lion on them.

Despite, the many, many Rastafarian phrases and words, found in P.O.D.’s songs, in interviews P.O.D. claim they are not Rastas.

It's amazing in one interview Wuv, of P.O.D. admits they don't know the Christian lingo, even mocking the Bible phrase, "Jesus is coming back:

"We’re from the street; we’re not Bible scholars—we don’t know the lingo. It’s not like ‘Jesus is coming back," he croons in a wavering heavy metal falsetto. ‘You won’t hear that in a P.O.D. song. We break it down street-style"
    Wuv, P.O.D.
    (New Music, June 2000, p. 45)

But boy, do they ever KNOW the Rasta lingo!

And their songs prove it — THROUGH AND THROUGH!

Not to mention the serious influence of Rasta prophet Bob Marley?

Jesus Christ said in Matthew 12:34, ". . . out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh"

What is "in the heart" will come out the mouth – in song!

Make no mistake about it — there is a deep knowledge and influence of Rastafarianism is "in the heart" of P.O.D.

No wonder Spin magazine writes of P.O.D.'s spiritual beliefs:

"Wuv and the band have structured their lives around a spiritual belief system that cross-fades Christianity, Rastarianism and Judaism."
    (Joyful Noisemakers, Spin, October 2001, p. 88)

Spin magazine also writes that Sonny and Wuv were reared by their Rasta uncle.

Guitar World truthfully says of P.O.D’s Rasta-filled music:

"A lot of the spirituality you guys project seems more akin to Rasta than mainstream Christianity"
    (Guitar World, Nov. 2001, p. 104)

The "sixty-four million dollar question" is — how does the Christian music magazines "not see" or "not report" the openly Rastafarian beliefs in P.O.D.'s music? Why don't they warn Christians about this false religion so mingled in their music. The secular magazines see it — and they ask them about it!

Wuv of P.O.D. makes the incredible statement – he thinks "everybody converted to Rasta at least once in their life"!

"I think everybody converted to Rasta at least once in their life"
    Wuv, P.O.D.
    (Guitar World, Nov. 2001, p. 57)

In Revolver magazine, Marcos makes the statement that P.O.D HATES religion.

"Can I give you a pretty harsh quote, right now? Marcos asks. "We hate religion, dude. Religion sucks, man! It’s not about ritual, for us, it’s about our personal relationship with God."
    Marcos, P.O.D.
    (Revolver, Nov/Dec 2001, p.63)

Hey dude! What about the RELIGION called Rastafarianism?

You sure don’t HATE that religion – YOUR MUSIC IS SOAKED IN IT!

Guitar World asks P.O.D. about reggae’s SPIRITUAL influence in their music: Remember reggae is the music of Rastafarianism.

GW Did reggae influence your approach to presenting a spiritual message through music?
SANDOVAL "I think it definitely had a lot to do with it"
    Sonny, P.O.D.

    P.O.D.'s SPECIAL GUESTS

MTV News reports P.O.D.’s latest album, Satellite has some SPECIAL guest appearances, by two of P.O.D.’s "heroes":

‘The album includes guest appearances by two of P.O.D.'s heroes, Jamaican toaster Eek-A-Mouse and H.R. of hardcore band Bad Brains. H.R., who brought his two pet birds along with him for the recording session, turns up on the reggae-punk number "Without Jah Nothing."
    (P.O.D. Launch Satellite, 08/07/2001, www.mtv.com/news/articles/1446399/20010807/story.jhtml)

And who is "Eek-A-Mouse" and "Bad Brains"?

    Two Rastafari bands!

    TWO HARD-CORE RASTAFARI SINGERS!

And What is the title of the song POD "invites" H.R. of "Bad Brains" to sing?

    "Without Jah Nothing"!

A review of Rastas Bad Brains album "God of Love":

"The best way to describe Bad Brains' sixth full length album is a cross between Faith No More, Bob Marley and a lot of Rastafarian propaganda. . . The insert and song lyrics are full of religious propaganda praising God JAH Rastafari."
    (imprint.uwaterloo.ca/issues/063095/Arts/nr-06.html)

A review of a Bad Brains concert in the New York Press:

"At midnight, the Brains finally come onstage . . .preaching the rastafari between numbers. . ."

What kind of Christian "invites" a devout follower and preacher of a "devil-inspired, false gospel" that is deceiving thousands of people with a false hope that will send them to an eternity in a lake of fire?

The Bible is very clear in 2 Corinthians 6:14-15:

14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
    2 Corinthians 6:14-15

What kind of Christian would deliberately DISOBEY the clear teaching of 2 Corinthians 6:14-16?

In an interview, Sonny of P.O.D. makes a reference to HR’s [HR is preacher/singer of Rastafarianism] turban looking like a royal headdress, like Rasta’s "Jesus", Haile Selassie!

"GW: What was it like collaborating with HR on your song ‘Without Jah, Nothin’"?
TRAA: A pleasure man, man. He had a turban on.
SANDOVAL: A royal headdress, like Haile Selassie [the former Ethiopian emperor, reserved by Rastafafarians as an incarnation of God—GW Ed].
    (Guitar World, Nov. 2001, p. 52)

Sonny openly confesses to MTV News, P.O.D. "hopes" they "can bring H.R.’s work and art . . . to more people".

"The whole time we were watching him [HR of Bad Brains], just bringing back memories from when we were little kids," Sandoval said. "We looked up to those guys, so it's our way of paying respect to his work and his art and what he's done. Hopefully, we can bring that around to more people. Most of the old-school heads and even the bands who were inspired by this man are gonna be like, 'Dude, P.O.D. straight gave it up to this man.'"

Sonny, H.R. is a false prophet – preaching a LIE – that will send a person to a lake of fire. No Christian should try to get their message OUT – Christians should do everything to STOP them from getting their gospel of damnation out!

10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, . . .
11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses , teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.
    Titus 1:10-11

No Christian that believes the Bible would "invite" a "prophet of hell" to sing on their album!

It’s amazing P.O.D. sings on their song "Ridiculous", P.O.D. sings, "Beware of the false prophets. . ." – which false prophets are P.O.D. referring to? It’s obviously NOT Rastafari false prophets! They "invite" them on their album!

Could ANY Christian youth pastor, preacher, publication, or ANY Christian POSSIBLY recommend such a Christian group to Christian young people?

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing,
but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
    Matthew 7:15
