PART 1:

We must lay aside our sin!!! But, are we able to do this?  NO!  But Jesus is able.  How?  Hebrews 12:2, 3

Paul’s race, Philippians 3:14; 2Timothy 4:7

Jesus, the advocate 1John 2:1-2 (This is Jesus at the beginning of our "race.")

Jesus, the author and finisher, Job 4:3-4; 1Corinthians 1:8-9; I Corinthians 10:12-13; 2Corinthians 9:8; Ephesians 3:19-20; Ephesians 5:26-27; 1Thessalonians 5:23-24; Hebrews 7:25; 2Peter 1:2-3;
Jude 1:24-25 (This is Jesus, as we near the end of our "race.")

Conclusion to Part 1:
We Have No Excuses. At the Judgment Seat of Christ, no excuses will be valid. We won't be able to legitimately blame anyone, including the devil, and certainly not God. Victory is possible in the Christian life because God is ready, willing, and able to sustain us through the temptations and trials we face. The question is not whether He is able to keep us from falling. Rather, the question is, will we continue to look to Him in faith and obedience?

This all seems well and good, and scriptural.  But how do we get from the hearing, to the doing?
James 1:22

Remember Hebrews Chapter 11?  By faith ". . . the elders obtained a good report."  How do we obtain a "good" report?  BY FAITH!  Hebrews 11:1; 11:6; Romans 10:17

And the more you "hear," the more your faith will grow!  Luke 17:5; 2Corinthians 10:15;
 2Thessalonians 1:3

PART 2:

Three types of faith --

• Our Christian faith (belief); Acts 6:7; 14:21-22; Romans 1:5
• Our faith in and toward God that He will fulfill His promises; Romans 1:8; 1:12; 1Corinthians 15:14
• God’s faith; Romans 3:22; Galatians 2:16; Galatians 2:20; Galatians 3:22; Ephesians 3:12;
  Philippians 3:9; 2Peter 1:1

How do we obtain the faith of God?  From the Holy Spirit!  Galatians 5:22; Ephesians 2:8-9

Which of these three types of faith do we need for the following?  James 1:5-8  GOD’S FAITH!

The end of the race, the finishing of the course, is the need for ". . .Him that is able to keep you from falling" Ephesians 3:13-21

Conclusion:

Compare Ephesians 3:20 and Jude 24. How do we keep from falling? We need the one who is ". . . able to keep [us] from falling, and to present [us] faultless, before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy."
