& MORE BLUNDERS
For we are not as many, which corrupt
the word of God. . .
2 Corinthians 2:17
SONS OF GOD GONE. . .
Donít look for any "sons of
God" in the TNIV Ė sorry, theyíve all been
The Lord no longer has any sons
Ė they're all just "neutered" children.
HOW ABOUT THOSE "RATIONALS
The TNIV translators and publishers claim
their motive for the TNIV is to provide a translation in "todayís
most contemporary, accepted English" and in language to reach
todayís generation. Itís funny, that every new Bible that comes out
How about Romans 12:1 and "todayís
most contemporary, accepted English"?
Here's the supposedly archaic, hard to
understand King James.
Romans 12:1, KJB
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye
present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God,
which is your reasonable service.
And hereís the latest-greatest, easier
to understand, in todayís language, blah. . . blah. . . blah TNIV:
Romans 12:1, TNIV
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of Godís mercy,
to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to
Godóthis is your proper worship as rational beings.
Does anybody "in todayís
language" talk like "rational beings"? Sounds like
somebodyís been watching too much Star Trek. . .
Now seriously. . . do you really believe
God would want His Word to read like a trekkie?
I HEARD ABOUT A MANSION. . .
The third verse of that great song
"Victory in Jesus" says:
I heard about a mansion He has
built for me in glory,
And I heard about the streets of gold beyond the crystal sea.
About the angels singing and the old redemption story,
And some sweet day I'll sing up there the song of victory.
Well. . . Donít look for any mansion
in the TNIV and NIV Ė it ainít there. . .
The Lord Jesus Christ describes my
mansion in John 14:2
John 14:2, KJB:
In my Father's house are many mansions if it were not so, I
would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
Notice, in John 14:2, the Lord Jesus says
". . .if it were NOT so, I would have told you. . ."
Well, according to the majority of the
new versions Ė itís NOT so. . .
The new PER versions have been hacking at
Godís mansions for years. Theyíve turned Godís beautiful mansions
into a "dwelling place", "home" and a
"room". Sounds like the Lord is running a "boarding
- Revised Standard Version [RSV]
- New American Standard Version [NRSV]
"many dwelling places"
- New International Version [NIV]
- New Century Version [NCV] "many
- New Revised Standard Version [NRSV]
"many dwelling places"
- The Living Bible [TLB] "many
- New Living Bible [NLB] "many
- The Good News Bible in Today's English
Version "many rooms "
- Godís Word Translation "many
- New American Bible [NAB] "many
If that wasnít bad enough (and believe
me it is. . .) the "in todayís language" TNIV doesnít even
give you a "room" Ė just "plenty of room". Got to
share a room, I guess. . .
John 14:2, TNIV
My Fatherís house has plenty of room; if that were not so,
would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for
"Plenty of room"? Doesnít
sound too exciting, does it? Pretty big step down from a
"mansion" to "plenty of room". Doesnít exactly get
you packing your bags to move in. . .Kind of hard to connect the
TNIVís "plenty of room" to 1 Corinthians 2:9, ". . .
Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of
man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him."
From a "mansion" to a
"dwelling place" to a "room" and now to the TNIVís
"plenty of room" Ė I guess the next version will read
"My Fatherís house has a closet. . ."
No Thank you. . . I think Iíll stick
with my "mansion" Ė it sounds more like the God I know.
Notice something else very curious
about the TNIVís treatment of John 14:2. . . Something very odd. . .
John 14:2, TNIV
My Fatherís house has plenty of room; if that were not so, would I
have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
Notice that "?" Ė
"question mark" at the end of the TNIVís John 14:2.
The TNIV translators change the sentence
from declarative to interrogative. The Lord Jesus Christ is no longer
issuing a statement of "fact" and "truth" Ė the
TNIV has Him asking a question. . .
Does that remind you of any other
verse in the Bible?
How about Genesis 3:1?
Now the serpent was more subtle than any
beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the
woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the
Ah so. . .The master of the
"question mark" Ė Satan. "yea, hath God said . . .?
The serpentís little subtle, question
mark in Genesis 3:1 triggered the fall of mankind. Just that little
element of doubt. . . .
The first "question mark" in
the Bible is from the mouth of Satan [serpent]. And it
"questioned" the words of God. Hmm. . .
Who do you think "lead" the
TNIV translators to "question" John 14:2?
Thatís some spooky stuff. . .
Iím glad Eugene Bartlett wasnít
reading the TNIV when he wrote "Victory in Jesus":
"I heard about plenty of room
He has maybe built for me in glory?"
May I remind you again. According to
their own words. This is the same people, the same methodology that
translated the NIV.
"The fully independent body that
translated the highly acclaimed NIV is the same eminent
group that undertook the work on the TNIV. . .
The widely respected translation methodology that drove the
scholarship of the NIV was maintained in the development of the
TNIV. . ."
(Faithfully Produced by CBT, www.tniv.info/story/cbt.php)
And according to the TNIV translators themselves
Ė the TNIV is MORE ACCURATE than the NIV.
"The NIV is an extremely
accurate Bible text, the best the CBT could produce as of 1984. The
TNIV is an even slightly more accurate Bible text, the best
the CBT could produce as of 2001."
